Stefano Maranò
Stefano Maranò received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in
Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Trento, Italy,
in 2005 and 2008, respectively.
Since 2009, he has been Research Assistant at ETH Zürich,
Switzerland, where he is a Ph.D. candidate with the Swiss Seismological Service (SED). He performed his Master’s thesis research at the Wireless Communications and Network Science Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), from September 2007 to June 2008.
In 2006, he was Research Assistant at the Department of Information
Engineering and Computer Science, University of Trento.
His research interests include signal processing and statistical
inference. His current research activity focuses on the development of
array processing techniques for the analysis of the seismic wavefield.
Mr. Maranò is currently serving as a reviewer of IEEE Transaction on Wireless Communications and IEEE Communications Letters, and European Wireless conference. He received the Best Paper Award of the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) in 2009 for his paper (with Wesley M. Gifford, Henk Wymeersch, and Moe Z. Win) on obstruction detection in Ultra-wide bandwidth (UWB) systems.
