Jo Woon Chong

Jo Woon Chong received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Daejeon, South Korea, in 2002, 2004, and 2009, respectively.

From 2010 to 2012, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Wireless Communications and Network Science Laboratory (WINS Lab) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA. He was a Research Assistant Professor at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA from 2012 to 2016. Since 2016, he has been an Assistant Professor at the Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX, USA. His current research interests include biomedical signal processing, non-invasive physiological monitoring, sensors and wireless communication for medical care, machine learning techniques for healthcare data, and home monitoring of health and disease.

Dr. Chong is currently an Editor of Information & Communications Technology (ICT) Express and served as a Guest Editor of the Sensors, Special Issue on Sensors for Biosignal Processing in 2018. He received the Best Paper Runner-Up Award in IEEE Body Sensor Networks Conference in 2013, the Best Paper Award in IEEE VTS Asia Pacific Wireless Communications Symposium in 2010, and the Best Paper Award in Next Generation PC International Conference in 2005.
